All the posts plus Karl's comments finally forced me to add my two cents.

Spoor's Volume 2 shows at least three photos of GN F-Units pooling on the Q,
all from the early 1960's:

p. 32 shows GN FTA-FTA-FTB + Q F3B-F3A in La Grange, IL 12/1960
p. ?? shows GN FTA-FTB-FTB-FTA-FTA set in La Crosse, WI 9/1/1962
p. 44 shows GN F3A-F7A-F7A-FTB-FTA set in Aurora, IL 3/1963

As has been mentioned, these were not really pool power arrangements, but
either short term lease or horsepower swaps.

On the other hand, according to Spoor's Volume 2 p. 74 NP F3A-B set 6000C and
6000D were leased by the Q in 1966-67. There is also a photo of NP 6000C, NP
6000D, and a Q F3B in April 1967 in Burlington Route the "Q" on page 4. So this
is definitely an option for any of us late modelers who want some NP F-units on
a train. But it is not pool power.

But Karl mentions GN power for E-Unit mileage equalization.

Karl: How late were you running GN power on 97 and 88? Do you recall any times
in the late 1960's? If so, can you recall specific models?

Finally, if you want to run trailing GN or NP power in the late 1960's on the
C&I, you can do so. Just make sure they are brand new locomotives, like Big Sky
Blue U33C's or NP U33C's being delivered in 1968 and 1969! There are awesome
shots in Spoor's Vol. 4 p. 107, also on an Emery Gulash video outside Chicago.
