The "can" was switched twice a day. As Karl related in his story there were 
 2 tracks holding two cars each so up to 8 cars of tinplate a day inbound 
if they  were available. The inbound coils,mtys going back and outbound scrap 
came and  went thru  Eola in the big interchanges there with the 'J '. Not 
sure which  North West Indiana mill made the tinplate but I'll try and find 
out.
 
The outbound cans went to other DelMonte canneries.

Thanks for the great info. Can you give any more info about the  EJE 
boxcars? How many cars did the can plant get? The J is the other RR I have  an 
interest in and you really don't hear much about where the cars went.
