GREAT!!!!
AND hopefully not too late; going thur my OLD CB&Q A.R.'s (back to 1862) -
first mention of "Waycars" in in Annual Rpt of 1868 (printed late summer of
1868 as Fiscal yr was July to June says "two coaches converted to Way Car
service" From this date forward "waycar" is the exclusive term, intially as
two words, later as one. From 1876 back the term is alwats "Conductor's cars".
yes I know - why in heck didn't I notice this before????

Subject: [CBQ] Commercial Post - The Burlington Waycars
Greetings,
The final edit of The Burlington Waycars is just about complete. If the
schedule holds the books will arrive from the printer in late January.
We will be updating the website in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for
previews and additional information. We also plan to have first hand reviews of
the final edit posted to the website.
Also, due to the book running over 600+ pages, the retail price of the book
will be raised to $95.00 for the standard edition and $110.00 for the Signed,
Limited Edition with the poster upon delivery. The signed Limited Edition will
only be available from us. Retail prices do not include shipping or insurance.
In January we will run a pre-delivery special at the former retail prices for
those of you that have not ordered. Orders after the cutoff date will not be
honored at the old prices.
All existing orders and layaways will be honored at the original pricing in
addition to the news orders received .
If you have moved since you ordered and haven't notified us, please do so off
list.
Finally, we are not running a great excess of books in the press run above what
the orders dictate. It is a necessity due to the page count of the book. This
is not meant to coerce your business; only to inform you of what to expect when
the books arrive. Also, dealers may not be able to refill orders to any great
extent so get your name on your dealer list before the books arrive so the
dealers can increase their order.
Our dealers:
Al's Hobby Shop
Caboose Hobbies
Colorado Railroad Museum
Des Plaines Hobby
Jim's Junction
Karen's Books
We do offer layaway to help spread the cost out. Contact me off list for terms.
Thank you.
Regards,
Randy Danniel
