Since the tail of the wye IS the interchange track, a backup move would not 
even be necessary. The train would merely pull a tight U-turn between the Santa 
Fe and BN and continue on its way.
If this routing were used, the train would pass through downtown Fort Madison 
in one direction, traverse the connector, then pass through in the other 
direction just a few minutes later.
