Scott,
It's the branchline combine, 3537, which I've posted about before that I'm
considering modeling. I have two NKP kits, and certainly plan to obtain
several others eventually. It appears, having blown Bill Glick's wonderful
drawing up to full-size for HO that the Branchline single-window coach is a bit
short (at about 78 feet). Does anyone know if the Walthers' coach is 80 feet
and how easily it might come apart?
Duncan

  Duncan,

Depending on what cars you want to model, I would suggest checking out the
available CB&Q cars from NKP Products at their website. As I recall, he has
kits for at least a dozen CB&Q heavyweight cars. I suppose some of these might
also serve as a starting point for kitbashing as well.

  Hi group.
In my future there's some kitbashing of heavyweight cars that will have to
happen and I wondered if anyone has had a go at using either a Walthers or
Branchline coach as a starting point. I suspect I'll be using ends, roof and
floor pretty much as is -- although I'll need to remove the side doors from the
vestibule leaving the vestibule itself open to view (so the construction of the
vestibule is a consideration). The sides I imagine I'll need to build from
scratch for the most part. If anyone is willing to share experiences, I'd
appreciate it (or recommend another starting point).
  Duncan Cameron
