I went and casually looked over the area on the north side of the
tracks this morning and it does look like it could be possible,
although I have to say there isn't much room between the tracks and
Burlington Ave. Points in favor of a bridge includes the fact that
Williams does run up to the RoW on the south side, and that there's a
gap in the Metra parking on the north side like they were required to
leave the area unencumbered. (BTW, that's about the strangest location
I've ever seen for Metra parking since it's one heck of a hike to
either Fairview or Westmont.) Other than that there's no sign that
bridge was there. Like you I find this intriguing, so if anyone has
photos, maps, memories, or a way back machine, please feel free to
post. Especially if you have a way back machine, I'd like to borrow
it for a bit.
Thank you kindly,
