Charlie,
I would say that the NE-12 has always been my favorite waycar.  
Unfortunately, my cigar box is about $59,980 short of the needed funds.  
Hopefully, Atlas 
or Kato will want to find a need to put their trucks under a  NE-12. Otherwise, 
I will have to go without. I'm not sure my kitbashing skills  are up to the 
task.

NE12s have never been done commercially in N Scale. The car would be a full  
five slide mold for the body and
separate molds would have to be made up  for the roofwalks, 
underframe/platformseparate molds would have to be mad
Atlas and Kato both make appropriate trucks for the car.
If you  have an extra $60,000 laying around in a cigar box somewhere that 
should be  enough to make the project happen....
