Hi Rob,
Thanks for the suggested Champ EH-143 set. I have a decorated Proto E7 and E8.
I bought
them several years ago when they were in abundance and very cheap (I really
regret not
buying more of them at that time). Now I have a hard time finding them so I
decided to
buy some decorated units for other rr's and respray them. It is hard, if not
impossible to
import paints from the US, so I use other acrylics to obtain almost the same
finish as the
Proto units. I really like seeing the new BLI E8 Stainless steel finish, but
those would stand
out next to the others, and I do not have the money to buy $125+ engines... I
did find a
BLI CZ set cheaply and I am saving for the Walthers EB, so I need some power
for them.
I have not done a nosepiece yet, I am currently remodelling a Proto E6 into an
E5A but
progress is slow. I did finish a cabless booster. I'm not the greatest
modeller, but I'm
happy with the result, which can be viewed here:

I have also kitbashed a U23C from an Atlas U30C and U23B.

Recently I rebuild a Rivarossi U25C into a U28C.

It has see thru grilles like the latest Proto U30B's. It's a dummy because of
the crappy old
drive...
