The south track was the eastbound, the north track was the westbound, and the
middle track was both ways. I think the max in the '50's was 80 mph.
Someone will know for sure. The power cars from the 50's are a give away to
which
way the commuter trains were going. On the eastbound the power car was at the
end of the train. On the westbound, it was right behind the engine (they
didn't turn the trainset around).
