I have one and so does a local Q member. He runs his all the time and it
runs great. I run mine on occation as I have a small layout, but it runs
great as well. No problems with either one of our B1's.
I bought mine when they first came out and disassembled it as usual. Cleaned
it up and primed it before I painted it. I have read several articles by
professional painters how all say the same thing; "If the clear coat appears
to be a good bond, there is no need to strip it". So my paint job has held
up under lots of handling without failure since Feb 1979.
I make it a pratice to lubricate my engines on a regular bases.
