Subject: Metra Incident
=====================================================================
Due to heightened awareness throughout the United States, the Metra Police
Department has requested that all local law enforcement agencies contact
their agency if anything unusual or suspicious is observed on any Metra
property.
On Saturday 08 January 2005 at approximately 1:00 p.m. a Morton Grove
Community Service Officer was at the Metra train station performing parking
enforcement when he observed two individuals on the Metra platform taking
photographs. He thought this was suspicious in nature and had
communications contact the Metra Police Department. The Metra Police
Department advised they had no knowledge of anyone taking photographs, but
requested that the Morton Grove Police Department stand by with the
subjects until they arrived. The Morton Grove officers explained to the
individuals why they were and that officers from the Metra Police
Department wanted to speak with them. At approximately 1:15 p.m. the Metra
Officers arrived and the Morton Grove Police officers turned the incident
over to the Metra Police Officers. Any actions or conversations that took
place between the Metra Police officers and the two individuals with
regards to this incident, needs to be addressed with the Metra Police
Department.
