The GM&O's passenger service on their Missouri line consisted of a
Doodlebug and a coach. This was made famous by a Model Railroader
article by Linn Westcott in the late 50's and has been reprinted several
times in Kalmbach's Railroads You Can Model. The doodlebug was replaced
briefly in the early 50s by an F3, baggage car and coach, but that much
service was not needed. The Doodlebug service lasted until 1960. It was
one of the last regularly scheduled Doodlebug runs.
The Q also ran a Doodlebug from Old Monroe to Mexico and return each day
until 1959.
As for a town with both the CB&Q and GM&O, Louisiana, Missouri, was
served by both and was a stop for the Zephyr Rocket. There are several
pictures of Louisiana in the Model Railroader/Kalmbach Book article and
Mike Spoor's CB&Q Volume 3 has several color photos including a good
shot of CB&Q tower and MFA elevator.
