I painted a LL E8/9 with Testors Metalizer lacquer. Unfortunately,
none of the LHS's carry Alclad paints.
The stainless was way too light (IMHO), so I bought 1/2 Oz bottles of
Magnesium, Titanium, Gunmetal, and Exhaust (all buffing types) and
shot a sample of each on a sheet of styrene. I ended up using
Magnesium or Titanium (it was a while ago, and I can't find my test
sheet right now!).
It worked out very well, but it's a one-time shot; no paint strippers
I tried would take off the stainless coat, so I shot over it.
It looks very nice. Now I just have to get decaled...
