The Q's E9's were used in Chicago Commuter service.
Later they were rebuilt by MK for continued commuter
service.
To my knowledge, the E9's never were used in freight.
But I heard that maybe some of the E8's and/or E7's
did see freight service. However when the late fall
came and heat for the cab was needed they were parked
since it meant firing up the boilers.
