If my memory serves me correctly, this plant was/is not on the river front,
it was up the hill a ways on the Mooar track.

It was actually National Carbide, and the trademark is prominently
stenciled on the side of a large storage bin/tank. (I have no idea if
that was a precursor to Union Carbide). There is a bit of a hill
visible in one corner of the photo, but not enough to scream
"riverbank". The photo is by LL Cook, a postcard, postmarked in early
1941, and offers a good view of the plant and trackage. There are three
Missouri Pacific quad hoppers with hatched covers on them. The reweigh
stencil on the closest appears to be 6-40. Neat shot. Hoping it was an
on-line Q customer. ;-) Rob
