"How the West Was Won" (1962) was filmed in super cinerama but prints were
also made in other formats so it could be shown in non-cinerama theatres.
Besides the three 35mm cinerama format, they also made single 35mm
anamorphic (width optically squeezed in half), 70mm and Ultra Panasonic 70
prints formats that were available in 1962. "Cinerama Holiday" (1955) was
filmed and printed in the three 35mm format, which was the only format
available then.

I think the reason that "Cinerama Holiday" was never printed in the later
formats that could be made into VCR or DVD is because it had no storyline,
just a film to show off the 'magic' of cinerama. "How the West Was Won"
actually told a story, was successful as a standard movie release and was so
popular that it was made into a TV series.
