Could you compare Cinerama Holiday to "How the West Was Won"? If a negative 
was usable, for transfer to video, it could be viewed with the slightly 
noticable vertical edges on the right hand and left hand side of the screen. 
Slightly annoying but you can look past it.

But based on your comments, it sounds like it won't come pass without a 
viable negative.
