OK. 

then it must have joined with the Wabash just south of
the depot there in Alnia.

It was always around 10 p. m. when I would see it, and
the train was invariably dark -- no lights on in the
cars, although I recall the red markers at the end. I
wonder what its schedule was.

If I could afford it, I would love to have a railroad
Official Guide from the 1950s. That might answer a
lot of my questions.
