Why would they think it is a made-up name? It is
well-documented; I believe there has even been a book
about it.

One of its most famous trains was the hot QLA
which ran over the Frisco/QA&P to Floydada, Texas,
for interchange with the Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe finally got them to run it via
Enid and Avard, along with the other through freight
over Floydada, and this removed most of the QA&P's
business.

The short section still existing from the
Red River into Quanah is still part of the BNSF
line from Oklahoma City to Quanah, a line which
reportedly in seeing traffic diverted over other
lines.
