Loren To make up for the loss of the bridge the BNSF is adding a run around from just before the switch at DART to almost Indian Trail. I'm thinking the tollway is paying for some of this. And yes it

Dan, During that time just north of the tollway, which may have been Illinois route 5 at that time remember 1972 the extension to I 80 almost into Iowa had yet to open and was probably under construc

Thanks for the info Loren. I beleive I 5 was renamed I 88 in the early 80's probably right around the time the NIFA branch was abandoned N of the tollway. Also this bridge has been abandoned by the B
