Scott, As for decoders, only one I know for sure is the LokSound Select 21 pin decoder for both the U25C and U28C. The earlier run of the U25Cs had a 21 pin socket and an 8 pin socket with dummy plug

Scott, ESU has a non-sound 21 pin decoder. All of the factory equipped DCC no sound locomotives from manufacturers like Bowser, Fox Valley Models and Intermountain are using it. Do not be tempted to

Scott, It's the ESU 54615 LokPilot V4.0. The main problem with ESU decoders is if you want to change their sound defaults (like horn, engine sound, etc.), you have to have their programmer. Since you
