Robert, The Burlington only rostered three A-B-A sets of F3 units for passenger service, all the other F-units were bought for freight service. The three sets 9960, 9961 and 9962 were painted in the

On the CB&Q F-units were used almost entirely in freight service and were almost all painted a colour which I believe was called "imitation aluminum" which is the white-ish colour that you refered to

Robert The only F units painted alumimum were F-3's passenger service, although a few did have steam "conduit" installed (not steam generators), so that they could be used in trailing position behind
