At one time, it was true. Other railroads included the Texas & New Orleans (SP), Gulf, Colorado, & Santa Fe (Santa Fe), International & Great Northern (MP), Texas & Pacific (MP), St Louis, Brownsville & Mexico (MP), Missouri-Kansas-Texas of Texas (MKT). Someone told me that in order for a railroad to operate in Texas, it had to be incorporated in Texas or some similar business reason. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not and expound on this? --
