Ted and group --
Burlington leased UP lounge car 6207 during 1962's "high season" primarily for use as a (supplemental) parlor car on the Twin Zephyrs for escorted tour traffic (to avoid handling tour sleepers in the Twins), but the car was also used in its intended capacity as a lounge. With regularly-assigned Black Hawk diner-lounge 172 on 1/47, the UP car served adult beverages to 2/47's passengers as far as Savanna before deadheading back to Chicago on No. 48. Similarly (and at Q expense), the NP diner (and crew) and dormitory car deadheaded from St. Paul to North La Crosse on No. 48 before returning to St. Paul for breakfast service on 2/47.
To temporarily replace Pullmans damaged in North Coast Limited derailments at Glendive, Mont., and Granite, Idaho, on January 29 and March 2, 1962, NP and Pullman temporarily (throughout 1962's high season) reassigned the Mainstreeter's Pullmans to the NCL, with the Pullman pool backfilling the Mainstreeter with MP/T&P Eagle-prefixed 14-roomette/4-double bedroom and Pennsy Cascade-prefixed 10-roomette/5-double bedroom cars.
The "regular 4-4-5-1 sleeper designated 472" in 1/47 was one of two Seaboard cars (4-section/4-roomette/5-double bedroom/1-compartment Budd-built cars Cedartown and Henderson) from the Pullman pool replacing two Black Hawk 10-roomette/6-double bedroom cars for the latter's summertime use in the CZ and DZ.

It is interesting to note the UP car moving from Chicago to Savanna. Probably deadheading and will be interchanged to Milw at Savanna? If a deadhead move, wonder why it was not interchanged in CUS? Also interesting is picking up two cars in NORTH LaCrosse. Was that a regular move? Note the cars are not adjacent in the train, so a couple switching moves.
