Bill
Thanks very much for all this information. I’ll add it to the list and post it later today. I’ll also look at something for the BRHS Zephyr.

Ex-CNW chair cars 4650-4657 were not assigned a Mechanical Department class (per the Mechanical Department diagram). Ditto suburban generator-coaches 7200-7205,
all six of which received aluminum paint in conjunction with the May-September 1965 delivery of gallery cars and simultaneous retirement of the remaining PA-14/PA-15 suburban cars.
Two other betterment Pullmans assigned to the Zephyr-Rocket were 10-section/3-double bedroom cars Cedar Rapids and Minneapolis. Along with Zephyr Tower and Rocket
Tower, they received what Pullman described as "CB&Q Special" paint, but with no indication that shadow-lining was applied. Minneapolis was sold to the Q (Cedar Rapids went to the RI) as part of Pullman's post-war divestiture of the sleeping car operation,
Betterment Pullman Missouri Tower was the twin of Denver Tower; both cars received aluminum paint.
For those modeling aluminum-painted DA-6 diners who are era-specific, note that 184 and 187 went to scrap in August 1963; Burlington green 178 and 182 outlasted them
by nearly two years (7/65). The scrap dates don't necessarily mean that the cars remained in-service right up to that point.

Subject: [CBQ] SSS and aluminum paint
Following on from the list I posted of simulated stainless steel and aluminum painted equipment, I have checked through it to validate the data, and the new list
is attached. My thanks to Hol for assistance with the C&S and FW&D equipment. For details of the SSS treatment, look at Burlington Bulletin 15.
Many of the SSS cars were later repainted or allowed to fade, so the aluminum paint designation may be by default. No evidence has been found of DA-6 dining cars 183, 184 and 187 being given either of these treatments nor DA-5 dining car 172. Office car 95
was not given a coat of aluminum paint until after it had been renumbered 251163 for MoW service, and no photo has been found of sleeper 666 Missouri Tower. Can anyone assist with these?
There is a photo of generator-coach 7202 wearing a BN emblem on page 318 of Passenger Car Photos. I’m presuming that, as it has not been renumbered, the aluminum paint is of CB&Q origin. Were 7200 and 7204-7205 similarly painted?
CRI&P’s Rocket Tower and Cedar Rapids may have been repainted for use with the Zephyr-Rocket but I have not included these.
The attached photo was labelled as dining car 189 but the number is not visible. Does anyone have a better copy of this photo to confirm a number for this car?
