I can't seem to get the St. Joe depot photo up again, but I intended to note that someplace along the line someone mentioned that St. Joe had "Electric Busses"..indeed they did. I remember when the electric buggies replaced the "real" streetcars" I well remember how upset I was by this intrusion. I do remember those Electric Busses coming along I'm gonna guess late 40's. They were unique. in that since they rode on rubber tires the trolley poles and over head wires had to be "double tracked" since there was no metal rails to provide the return path for the electricity.
Those electric busses ran at least through the 50's and maybe longer. The old "Carbarn" was located along St. Joe Avenue in NE St. Joe not far south of the "Vinegar Bridge. Tom Parisoff and other St. Joe natives will recall the 'vinegar Bridge which carried a street over the CGW and to the Vinegar Works. That carbarn building is now gone, but it was still there 10 or so years ago.

It's looks similar to what is in Louis's photo, but the train
shed over the tracks is missing and the bell tower does not match.

that "could be" St. Joe
UD. Yes Louis that would have been close to my seniority
date. I think that there was a sizeable UD at St. Joe before
the one I knew. but the "location" and the tracks and the
background to the right would be OK. The trains are headed
south as things lay..or is it lie today.

Pete -
I've reattached the "mystery" photo that might
be St. Joe or Davenport around 1900. Say,
didn't you hire on about that time..... - Louis
