The car likely has some car numbers hidden under interior paint or perhaps stamped in window sash or other body parts.
There were only 11 of the NM-1 15’ cars:
1899 Plattsmouth
CB&Q 300-303 14900-14903
B&MR 5 14904
48 14905
134-137 14906-14907
141-143 14908-14910
And three groups of NM-2 20’ totaling 49 cars:
1903 Aurora
CB&Q 304-314 14925-14935 (note 315 vacant at time of re#)
316-323 14936-14943
1906 Aurora
14944-14950
1907 Aurora
14953-14973
Note that #300 is a legit number for a NM-1 so might be the correct number. Joe Douda’s roster information doesn’t carry any disposition for the
300/14900. The 14901 and 14908 are shown as being retired in 1914, the 14905 in 1915, and the 14903 as scrapped at Omaha in 1931.
The J. Harold Geissel drawing is re-sent as a jpg attachment for those using other than windows that cannot open windat files.
I will be on the watch for the Geissel pencil sketch of the car and will post that when I find it.
