Rick Do not forget the NYC power that brought a train up from NYC Jct. into Zearing. They would set the train out in the East Yard then go up and over the Mainline into the West Yard in a wye move getting back to the East Yard thru the CTC crossovers on the Mainline. Back into the East Yard get their train and head for home running back to NYC Jct. Steve in SC

Louis and Ken: When I was working Detroit for the Q I would occasionally drop my wife off at her office which was located on the north side of the MC/NYC's Livernois yard. Often I would see a train powered with Q units on a eastbound freight headed for the Detroit River tunnel and across southern Ontario to Buffalo. It just occurred to me someone may have taken some photos of Q units in Canada (and why didn't I do that). It's shorter from Chicago to Buffalo via Detroit than Toledo/Cleveland/Erie. The NYC train symbol LS 2 or 4 or 6. Too long ago for that detail. Fred Crissey

Ken - I was in the Navy during the same time period and was stationed in Newport, RI. I got up to Boston a couple of weekends a month. As I remember, it was the Boston & Albany (NYC) yard. There was either a four or six lane highway that ran along one side of the engine terminal and I often saw Q run through power being serviced there - Louis
