What were the chances that the foreign power was actually usable? Typically, we will send 3-4 NS and CSXT units at a time back to Chicago from Northtown. Usually they are dead due to mechanical issues.

The photo was taken by my good friend Ken Crist at the east (38th St.) end of the Q's 38th Street freight yard in Denver. The power had come up from the 23rd St. roundhouse/diesel shop/servicing facilities and would shortly couple on to an eastbound
freight. You can see the foothill of the Rockies in the background.
