This photo is actually quite helpful, as I'm thinking of driving up to Ranchester after the holidays and getting a firsthand view of the area.  Jan 6, 2020, would be the 109th anniversary of this tragic accident.  Weather permitting of course-  I am all too familiar with Wyoming ground blizzards.

I am on an eastbound freight train sitting behind a 2-unit set of SD60M helpers stopped at the east CTC switch of Ranchester waiting on 2 westbound coal trains. (The previous grade profile is BNSF's)
