The F-3's went into freight service in 1955, but were NOT re-painted until at least 1957, maybe 1958. I have a photograph of 9960, at Christopher, Illinois, on a freight train, still in passenger paint on November 1, 1957. See page 87 of BB 35.

I run my CZ with an F from each of the roads. Not prototypical but it’s my RR and looks cool!

I’m starting a new project modeling the former CZ Passenger units 9960 A-B-A in the freight paint scheme.  What reference material is out there for modeling, detailing & painting these units?  Also what vendor has the best model for this prototype?  I know these units had their steam boilers removed and received the freight paint in 1955.  There are also many photos of the 9960C & 9960B coupled with an unknown F-7.  Was the original trio broken up for some reason? And if so what became of the 9960A?  I know this trio was also the last of the group to be scrapped from 1964-1967.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott
