I’ve been researching the Grant Loco Works, built at Cicero in 1892 and constructor of some K-2’s, for a
Burlington Bulletin article. The premises were purchased in 1902 by National Malleable which occupied them under various company names until about 2001 – haven’t found an exact date – hence my interest. There are a number of maps, including Sanborn
maps, of the premises (and the location of the CB&Q tracks) at Library of Congress.
As per an earlier e-mail, the company used CB&Q equipment in at least two of its adverts for National B Trucks.
