The Sanborn map from about 1950 shows a building at the north end of the plant labelled as scrap storage, with tracks going into the building.
You don’t by any chance take a photo of the switcher, do you?

My uncle, Victor Hammer was the Shipping Receiving Forman for National Mailable, Gondolas of Scrap Steal delivered CNW proviso yard was adjutant to the east end of the Proviso yard.
Scrap was also delivered by the Harbor Belt from the East side of the Plant. When I visited my Uncle at work I was told not to even think of operating the Center cab Locomotive used for switching cars around the Plant yards. I think that the plant has ben
closed now.
