This topic seems to generate a LOT of interest and posting from the group.  I say tell us of the encounter right here as long as we're on the edge of our seats anyway.  If we were talking religion or politics I'd say take it elsewhere but railroading, especially with someone not THAT far removed from the CB&Q itself, should be fair game for us here.

If memory serves me right, EHH was the BN's Chicago Division Superintendent for a short amount of  time in the early 1970s before being "forced out." My Dad who had preceded EHH as the Q's Chicago Division Superintendent some 10 years earlier never would have had any professional railroading respect for the man, nor do I today.

 

Just learned something, I never knew that Keith Creel, ceo at CP, was EHH's son-in-law. Now, isn't this a GREAT Group where inquiring minds often end-up learning more about a subject than they ever expected to. Best Regards - Louis
