Louis From My read you better figure on getting your torch back out as you will be called back from retirement to help with the Wreck of the CSX I worked the Mainline when HHH was on BN and he tried to single track the Mainline Aurora to Galesburg. It ate the switches up as you can not run the tonnage thru switches all the time with out maintenance. Then when Galesburg was being rebuilt 1 receiving began at Aurora on Main 1 with trains tied up all the way across The biggest problem with most business today is right on Wall St. You got to let the workers do the work and get it done not second guess them as what might(??) work on one road does not work on them all. Just an old dinosaur who left before they could kick him out Steve in SC On Monday, July 24, 2017 12:25 PM, "LZadnichek@aol.com [CBQ]" <CBQ@yahoogroups.com> wrote: July 24, 2017
Group - Following is off subject, but seeing as this Group includes a
number of retired railroaders, mostly off the Q/BN/BNSF, who remain
interested in current day railroading, but do not have access to the
railroad trade media, I submit the following concerning the on-going "melt down"
at CSX:
May be when Hunter is done "derailing" CSX, BNSF can swoop in and merge
what's left of the property that's still profitable.... CSX has a large
presence in Mobile, AL, just across the Bay from Fairhope, and I've been
hearing horror stories from career railroad employees I know over there.
I've read Railway Age longer than I've read TRAINS (50 years-plus) and I've
never seen a piece like this. At least CSX's arch competitor NS is presently
staying on track. Best Regards - Louis
