There was also 251167, ex BA-10C baggage car 1509, which had the end cut out and rails installed along its length. There’s a photo in Bulletin 51 page 66 showing it at the Aurora Shops. It ran between the 14th Street Wheel Shop and the Aurora Shops taking wheel sets for turning in the wheel lathe. There’s also a photo showing a wheel set being loaded into the predecessor wheel car which was converted from a cream car.

 

I suspect that a baggage car was used for this task so that it could be run in a regular passenger train.
