Richard according to the 1929 plat map I'm looking at there were two lakes N.W. beyond the Q/IC/MILW xing. They were connected by a small creek that appears to be the source for both.
The more eastern of the top was smaller (marked Kakusra park) and the western one is larger and clearly marked as Q property.

I've been in and out of reading the CB&Q postings for awhile, but has anyone uncovered if the small lake outside of Mendota, IL was built for the CB&Q or the IC or Milw Road.  The Q seemed to have the largest operations there.  Was is for Q water?   Born and raised in Brookfield, we used to go there often to fish and swim as kids in the 50's and 60's.  Thanks,
