>A first section of a TRAIN OF ANOTHER SCHEDULE  could get in between a second or third section of the ORIGINAL SCHEDULE.  That's why it was a good thing that everybody knew what engine all sections of EACH SCHEDULE be known by all concerned.

Crews of inferior trains do not need to know what engines are on which sections of what train. It didn't matter at all if a section of a 2nd scheduled train got between sections of the first scheduled train.

Crews on inferior  trains had to clear (get out of the way of) scheduled trains that were due. Neither the Scheduled trains nor any of their sections could run AHEAD of the schedule, that is what made the system work.
An opposing inferior train had to be in the clear of the superior train at least 5 minutes before the superior train was due at the location of the inferior train. If the inferior train was in a siding and met a train showing no class lights or class flags (called signals) then they knew they had just met the scheduled train they were waiting on and they could now proceed. But if the train they just met had green class lights that told the crew on the inferior train that they had NOT met all sections of the scheduled train they were waiting on so they had to continue to wait for the scheduled train that was due. No matter how many trains they met that had green class lights they still have not met the schuduled train they are waiting for. They must wait until a train goes by WITH DARK class lights or no class flags. Only then have they met the scheduled train and can proceed.

If while the inferior train is waiting for the scheduled train that has no class lights, a second scheduled train becomes due at that location, then the inferior train must wait for TWO trains to pass that BOTH have NO class lights/flags. So if the 2nd train is also running in multiple sections all those sections except the last will be showing green class lights. If one of the 2nd train's sections gets in between the 1st train's sections it doesn't matter one bit to the inferior train's crew. All they see is a parade of trains with green class lights and until they meet TWO trains with NO class lights they must remain in the clear.
