Jerry and Jan,
I think it is clear that if you receive your Yahoo group messages in digest form, Yahoo strips off all imbedded photos or attachments. I suspect this is done to conserve file size. Is there anyone who receives their yahoo group messages in digest form that is also receiving imbedded photos and attachments?
The real point here is that Hol's several messages concerning the C&S 800 series mikados leased to the Q all were posted on the Yahoo CBQ on line web site, but none of the photos were included. If you go to the web site, you will not find them. They are not in photostream, photo albums or photomatic. If you go to the actual messages under conversations, the messages concerning the C&S 800s are there, but with blank squares where the photos should be.
Hol certainly knows how to post photos as he has provided many over the years. His earlier photos are in Photostream as are his two from yesterday of C&S ten wheeler 330 and pacific 372, but no photos of the C&S 800s. It appears to me that the only people who received Hol's photos of the C&S 800 series mikados were those who receive their Yahoo group messages as individual posts. With the current Yahoo format, attachments are shown in Photostream rather than being included with the message. Louis Zadnichek has been posting photos at this same time and indicates that he is both attaching them and imbedding them. If you look at his recent messages on the CBQ Yahoo group web page, you will find that his attachments appear both as thumbnails with the message and as normal size photos in the Photostream section. His imbedded photos in the message body, like Hol's, show up as blank squares. I don't think that imbedding the photos in the message serves any purpose. Is anyone receiving Yahoo group messages with photos that are visible within the body of the message as opposed to an attachment?
Hopefully, the issue with the C&S 800 photos was a one time anomaly. Possibly, Hol could indulge those of us that didn't receive the C&S 800 photos, by re posting them as just attachments and this time, Yahoo will get them into the Photostream section.
