To add to Hols comments. I have pictures(poor ones) of long strings of 6100 and 4500 series cars,along with a RPO or two staged at Eola for their turn with the torch men in '68/69.
I looked at my copy of the Condrs Booking Book. It covers approx. 1960-64. Here's a small sampling of what I found for both C&I and mainline trains. In most cases if there was a 6100 series there were also 4500s. Condrs listed both series simply as coaches in their books.

How late were these HW coaches in use on the Q and did they frequent any particular trains/area? Wondering if they would have any application on secondary trains (e.g. Blackhawk) on Chicago to Mpls/StP trains?
