Tom,

To add to Hols comments. I have pictures(poor ones) of long strings of 6100 and 4500 series cars, along with a RPO or two staged at Eola for their turn with the torch men in '68/69.

I looked at my copy of the Condrs Booking Book. It covers approx. 1960-64. Here's a small sampling of what I found for both C&I and mainline trains. In most cases if there was a 6100 series there were also 4500s.
Condrs listed both series simply as coaches in their books.

12/23/61-1st 48-6114
9/15/61-#35-6167
12/15/61-2nd 48–6158,6122,6138
12/6/61-#8-6112 as a rider car for crew
1/11/62-#2-6111,6200
7/2/64-#8-6201,6164,6112,6137-probably as DH
3/20/64-#47-6169
11/28/64-#21-6163 & 2-4500s as DH ON HEAD END OF TRAIN
12/24/62-2nd 47–6163
unknown date,probably 1960-1st22-6163
4/1/62-steam excursion w/5632 & 4960-6123,6144,6148,6165

How late were these HW coaches in use on the Q and did they frequent any particular trains/area? Wondering if they would have any application on secondary trains (e.g. Blackhawk) on Chicago to Mpls/StP trains?
