Hol. Thanks for the fast reply. Now I can check off another part of the project. I might also add that I have found some ultra small pre-wired "Pico" LED's that slide right into the base of the Grandt Line O-Scale marker lamps(GL # 149). The "Pico" LED's are about the size of a newly sharpened pencil tip and while they don't cast a great deal of light like a headlight would I figure they should be perfect for this application. More experimenting/testing tomorrow. The new "Pico" LED's are available through Evan Designs of Brookfield, CO. ( http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/ ) I will add that I have no connection to Evan Designs other than being a very satisfied return customer. Hol To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com From: sartherdj@aol.com Date: Wed, 26 Mar 2014 19:53:31 -0700 Subject: [CBQ] Waycar Marker Lamps I am building an O-Scale model of a CB&Q NE-4 waycar. I have found some very nice O-Scale Grandt Line marker lamps and lamp holders for the model. I would like to get the correct orientation for the colored lenses of the marker lamps at the rear of the waycar. I believe that the Q's practice was to have a red lens protecting the rear of the train. Can anyone confirm the color of the lenses to the sides and front? I have seen a color photo of a waycar in a museum with a marker lamp at the rear that seems to be green to the sides. I think some other railroads used yellow to indicate the sides of their cabooses. So I would like to receive some confirmation of the Q's practice. Thanks in advance for all help. Later, Dave Sarther Tucson, AZ |
