They're doing strictly mail-order online operation. Monkey Ward was also responsible for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in 1939. And one more useless piece of BS was the mail-order war with Sears-Roebuck. Sears had their mail order catalog trimmed by a 1/4 inch or so on the sides so it was smaller than Wards. Now sitting on a coffee table with the Wards catalog on top it would look awkward so to make the stack look symmetric folk would naturally place the smaller catalog on top of the pile. Thereby the Sears catalog was always on top an easiest to reach..

Noel thanks for the reminder of the President of MW being carried out in his chair...I had forgotten about that....I have forgotten his name, but I think I can find out....Just so YA KNOW...it isn't Montgomery or Ward.

Biggest competitor to Sears. Had really good products. I went through three of their life time car batteries for free. They got tired of seeing me coming. Like all good outfits in the 70' they went down the tube to total mismanagement. A famous picture in Life Magazine in 42 or 43 shows the President of Montgomery Wards being carried out of his office in his chair by soldiers because he refused to work with Roosevelt on the war effort. Had his own way which was probably better.
