I assume you are modeling 2 rail since you said you scratch build. Good for you. I'm doing 3 rail, close to scale not the post war Lionel tin plate stuff. Already have some Atlas freight cars, an F3, GP9 and just bought an MTH 0-8-0 lettered in Q. Hoping that I can modify it to make it look more like a Q engine. 

I guess I now need to start looking a scratch building material, like a cuckoo clock head light. Does anyone make one, like Cal-Scale? Also, can you direct me to any sources that offer scratch building materials? Does Walthers have an O gauge book like they do for HO?

I have been looking at the Sunset 3 rail stuff, some of it is really good looking. Can not wait to get my hands on the Atlas CZ cars. Looks like Atlas does a great job of detail on their models.

Good for you Ray.  I made the move in 93 when we got moved to Texas and never looked back.  Most of my modeling is from scratch or kit bashed and I am building cars the Q used.

I'm in the process of moving to O gauge after being in HO for over 60 plus years. My collection started in the early 1960's, and I kept on buying CB&Q and GN models up until 6 months ago. Lots of brass, custom painted engines and cars.

I will provide a list of models I will sell in the next week or 2, but for now, I wonder if anyone who is an O gauger that is moving up (or down depending how you look at it) that would be interested in doing some swapping.

My interest is high rail, 3 rail NOT LIONEL POST WAR. I am interested in models that are more to scale with Lionel's TMCC and MTH's DCS sound and control systems.
