John,

As Bob pointed out, only the first six 2-10-4's had Elesco feedwater heaters.  Stagner is incorrect  on this particular point.  I hope this brings the argument of reprinting Burlington Bulletin #21, ' The Q's "Colorado" types' to the front burner!!  They're my favorite engine, too.  Attached is a spread sheet I've been working on for a few years that is by no means complete, but at least tries to gather the information together.  If for no other reason than to confuse issues even more.

Thanks,

Nolen Null

Charlie -

I have made a couple of additions to my M4A article, and it is attached.

All-

As my research material is packed I would appreciate it if anyone with ready access to the information would give me a short history of the rebuilding of the M4 2-10-4s from drag freight locos to manifest-able machines.  Dates, original / final assignments, etc.. and what changes were made?

Thanks,
Charlie Vlk
