All -

Only the first six M4/M4a locomotives (6310 - 6315) were equipped with Elesco
feedwater heaters. The remaining twelve engines (6316 - 6327) were equipped
with Worthington BL (left side-mount) feedwater heaters. The Winter 1984 (Vol.
8, No. 2) issue of Locomotive Quarterly has a nice spread of photos of the
"Colorados". Bill Barber and I rode the 1959 double-header trip with the 6315
which was added to the 5632 on the main line at Clyde. West of the movie run
at Zearing, the 6315 first broke the eccentric rod on the right side and then
subsequently, broke the eccentric rod on the left side. Obviously, the "Jiffy
Lube" team at Clyde RH misplaced their grease chart for M4s.
