I Do not remember them all being BSB. It was the last train out and the first train into Aurora and went right away to the Hill Yard. The cars from that usual train cycled thru the other Double Deck trains. Cars were rebuilt from steam to electric at the same time the locos were at MK getting 645's We never had the problems with the rebuilt locos like the newer METRA units Steve in SC 2nd trick Aurora Tower and then 36 years a DS with most time spent on the East End From: "qutlx1@aol.com" <qutlx1@aol.com> To: cbq@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thu, November 8, 2012 4:25:38 PM Subject: Fwd: [CBQ] Commuter push-pull Note: Forwarded message is attached.
Doug,
My memory was that there was a train set of GN Sky Blue flat top
coaches(might have been ex something else) that sub'd in for each set of double
decks that went in for HEP conversion. As the double decks came back they no
longer need a Q power car so those started leaving service.
As to brakes on the E units I'll let Karl or somone else address but my
memory is the best liked feature was the "straight air" feature which
worked well on the dinkies.
