Unfortunately, it was unprotected and badly vandalized while it was on display at Mt. Pleasant. Windows were broken, parts were stolen, weather damage occurred and trash was everywhere. I remember going through the 9903 while it was there and was appalled by the damage. It was a shame that no protection or maintenance was provided. At the time, the four car for the Pioneer Zephyr was also there, sitting on wood cribbing since it had not trucks. I don't know what became of that car.

No, it was not operated by the new owners but was on static display on the ground of the Midwest Old Threshers Association at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
