Sorry for the cross posting but I'm throwing the net as widely as I can. I'm working on my notes on Keokuk's railway history and came up against a gap I can't fill. Who built and owned the first rail bridge over the Des Moines River at Keokuk? Initially the Mississippi Valley and Western Railway Compnay used trackage rights over the K&D to enter Keokuk. It seems they did have a small amount of track in Iowa at Buena Vista (near Keokuk) so it seems logical that they built the bridge. It (or its replacement) is now owned by BNSF. Does anyone have any details? Duncan Cameron [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
