Duncan,

It was eons ago I had opened it up, but I think it might have only had two of 
the axles powered.  I think it may not have been able to pull the three car set 
- not too far off from the prototype!

Be ready to repower it if you want to pull anything. It just had one powered 
front truck and was really a weak runner.
