List last Saturday I had the opportunity to see the interior of the CB&Q depot in Milton, IA. In the freight room was a small room suspended from the rafters and accessible via a ladder fastened to the wall. I was told a bed was found in the room, but that would have been when the town took over the depot. The railroad stopped running in Milton in 1969, I have no idea when the town acquired the building. I have created a new photo album "Milton IA" and uploaded two photos I took of this room. I can get access and take additional photos if needed. Does anyone have any ideas of what the room was used for and why it was built the way it was built? Doug Harding www.iowacentralrr.org ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
